The UKCA Certificates of Constancy of Performance have been formally issued, covering the Chemfix chemical anchor range. These complement the issued UKTA technical reports.
What is UKCA ?
The UKCA marking is the UK's new conformity marking for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales). It replaces the CE marking for many products following the UK's departure from the European Union. The UKCA marking demonstrates that a product meets the relevant UK legislation and can be freely sold in Great Britain. Here's a more detailed explanation:
- UKCA stands for UK Conformity Assessed.
- It's a product marking required for many goods sold in Great Britain.
- It signifies that the product meets the relevant UK regulations and safety standards.
- It's similar to the CE marking, but for the UK market.
Just as a UKCA is an equivalent of a European CE mark, these are backed by a UKTA (equivalent of an ETA) which as based on a UKAD (Equivalent to an EAD).
What about the CE Mark?
CE marked products are still fully accepted in the UK. The UK government has extended recognition of CE marking indefinitely for a range of product regulations including for Chemical Anchoring, giving businesses flexibility in choosing which mark to use. This means that products meeting EU requirements, including the CE marking, can continue to be placed on the GB market.
